BOYSEN® participates in the National Inception Workshop on Lead in Paint Elimination Project

Pacific Paint (Boysen®) Phils., Inc. represented by Mr. Johnson D. Ongking, Mr. Vergel Dyoco and Gretchen A. Fontejon, participated in the recently concluded National Inception Workshop on Lead in Paint Elimination Project organized by the Ecological Waste Coalition of the Philippines (EcoWaste Coalition) last October 12, 2012 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Quezon City. The workshop aims to let public know about the existence and current implementation of the Elimination of Lead in Paint project.

The said activity was attended by different sectors from paint industry, hardware association, medical field, academe, youth sector, laborer’s groups, architectural and construction firms, consumer’s groups, individual advocates, governmental institutions and civil society organization, where attendees were welcomed by Mr. Matthieu Penot, Attaché, Environment and Energy of the European Union Delegation to the Philippines.

“As a socially responsible company, Boysen® is an ardent supporter and participant in eliminating lead in all its products. A commitment and action which we have done so as early as 2007,” Pacific Paint (Boysen®) Philippines, Inc. vice president Johnson D. Ongking said.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the discussion on “Preventing Childhood Lead Exposure through Lead Paint Elimination, Education and Abatement” given by William Menrath, a senior research associate of the University of Cincinnati and Director of Great Lakes Regional Occupational Safety and Health Education Center, followed by the responses from the different sectors: Mr. Johnson D. Ongking, President of Philippine Association of Paint Manufacturers (PAPM), Ms. Angelita Brabante of the DENR-EMB, Archt. Ernesto Antonino Nasol of the Philippine Institute of Architects.
