What is Leed?
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building rating system created by individuals representing all segments of the building industry who are members of the United States Green Building Council. It is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings, and seeks to establish common standards of measurement, recognize environmental leadership on the building industry, and raise consumer awareness of green building benefits. The program awards points to various aspects of a design project, including paint. With enough points, a project can be LEED Certified.
As green buildings gain momentum in the Philippines, BOYSEN® Paints is showcasing a line of green paints that will help professional architects quality for points in Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED), an internationally accepted benchmark for green building.

How is this done?
In the LEED rating system, points can be gained by adhering to certain green building standards. There are several ways to earn points. BOYSEN® has many products that are LEED Compliant that can help qualify the entire project being LEED certified.
What are the ways to earn points?
Points can be gained by using BOYSEN® interior paints that have VOC levels under 50 grams per liter for flat paints and 100 grams per liter for non-flat paints. Points can also earned by meeting the requirements of GS-11.
What is GS-11?
The Green Seal GS-11 Standard establishes environmental requirements for interior and exterior topcoats, but it does not include stains, clear finishes, or paints sold in aerosol cans. For more details about GS-11, you can download the GSM Manual.
